Visiting for the Festival

Crop Over Souvenir - - VISITING FOR THE FESTIVAL -

Every year, thousands enter Barbadian shores with one thing in mind – enjoying the Crop Over festival! The vacationers, whether they are nationals living abroad or tourists, find the liveliness of the season impossible to resist. They pour into the Grantley Adams International Airport, hailing from far and wide. We took a trip to the airport on Tuesday July 31, just five days before Grand Kadooment, to find out why visitors enjoy the Crop Over season.

Name: Asha Small-wolf Age: 39

Where are you visiting from? London, United Kingdom. Are you a repeat visitor? Yes. Why do you love the Crop Over festival? I’m here as a birthday gift to myself, doing Crop Over first class. My birthday is coming up in September. I’ve never done it before. I’ve never experienced it, so it’s the experience – the day, the colours, the vibe. I’m looking forward to jumping in the Aura band with my cousin. I just want to try it because I don’t think I would do it again.
