PNP to outline plans
KINGSTON – The main opposition People’s National Party (PNP) says it will use the upcoming 80th annual conference to outline its policy framework for the development of Jamaica if its forms the next government.
“It is not a manifesto, it will represent the broad outline of the policy objectives that the party will seek to achieve when it becomes the next government,” PNP chairman Fitz Jackson told a news conference yesterday.
He said the party, which lost the 2016 general election by a 32-31 margin, will use the September 13 to 14 conference to set out its policy framework in the form of a covenant with Jamaicans.
The conference will be held under the theme The People’s Interest: Our Passion, Our Purpose. (CMC)
