Downie seeking top 5 spot in Olympia
Downie, who will thunder on stage with about 150 pounds of muscle, said she had not added size but was rather maintaining condition.
“Just getting my condition right, I don’t need to be bigger. I should be between 145 and 150 pounds of lean muscle,” she added.
Downie said she has been working out at two gyms.
“When I lost inspiration, I went back home to Valley Fitness, but I was at Flawless Performance Concepts for stairmaster cardio,” she added.
This is the third pro contest of the season for Downie. On June 30, she captured the San Jose Pro in California and qualified for the Olympia, and in July she had to settle for 13th place in the Chicago Pro.
Downie has had ten top ten finishes in the pro ranks, including three last season. She was tenth at the Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio, in March and finished the year with second and third places on the American circuit in November.
ANTOINETTE DOWNIE: “Over the weekend, my nutritionist looked at me and he is pleased that I am on track. I am ready.”
