CPO Atkins moving into new post
CHIEF PERSONNEL OFFICER (CPO)
Gail Atkins is being reassigned after about
14 years in that post. She will become Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of the Public Service effective January 14.
Head of the Civil Service Dr Louis Woodroffe made the announcement yesterday in a two-page memorandum addressed to permanent secretaries and heads of departments.
He also said the CPO post would be “frozen in due course”.
It is expected that Atkins will continue to be responsible for Government’s personnel matters in her new post. Her reassignment was one of 14 involving permanent secretaries and deputy permanent secretaries.
According to the memo, the changes would see current Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Small Business, Entrepreneurship and Commerce, Terry Bascombe, taking up the post of Special Envoy to the Republic of Suriname from next Monday.
