THERE WERE SMILES amid the gloom on the pae­di­atric ward of the Queen

Eliz­a­beth Hospi­tal.

Gover­nor-gen­eral Dame San­dra Ma­son con­tin­ued to spread the Christ­mas cheer when she vis­ited the Pae­di­atric Depart­ment.

On ar­rival, Dame San­dra was greeted by a wel­com­ing party in­clud­ing chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Dr Dex­ter James, Chair­man Juli­ette By­noe-suther­land and Head Of the Depart­ment Dr An­gela Jen­nings and was ser­e­naded by the St Leonard’s Boys

Choir and the Hinds­bury Pri­mary School.

She toured and then shared gifts to chil­dren on Ward C7. Her visit came a day af­ter she vis­ited the Geri­atric Hospi­tal.

AN IN­TER-MIN­IS­TE­RIAL COM­MIT­TEE will be set up to tackle the long wait­ing list of el­derly peo­ple hop­ing to find refuge at Bar­ba­dos’ dis­trict hos­pi­tals.
