Caught stealing gas
HARD TIMES HAD HIT HIM, but he still wanted to ensure that his vehicle contained gasoline.
As a result, Albert Nathaniel White decided to siphon some gas from his workplace.
However, his actions were caught on camera and they landed him in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court.
White, 38, of Ifill Road, Flagstaff, St Michael, admitted stealing 66 litres of gasoline belonging to Attractions of Barbados on November 25.
Acting Magistrate Sandra Rawlins imposed a three-month term on the first-time offender but suspended the sentence for 12 months.
Prosecutor Station Sergeant Carrison Henry said White was a messenger at Tiami Cruises.
He drove his car to the Shallow Draught where the business was located and where containers of gasoline were stored.
He used a transparent tube to siphon the gas into three transparent five-gallon drums and left.
The following day, management noticed a discrepancy when a fuel check was carried out. The security footage was reviewed and White was seen stealing the gas.
He later told police he had a financial emergency and used the gas to fill his personal vehicle.
RELATIVES ON THE SCENE at Mapp Hill.
