The article tells about the life of Vladimir Karvat, a Belarusian military pilot first class, Lieutenant Colonel, chief of the air force weapons training at the 61st airbase stationed in Baranovichi. Vladimir Karvat was honored for his heroic actions when his training aircraft lost control and was heading directly toward a populated area. Vladimir Karvat steered the plane until it crashed 1km away from the populated area killing him. On 21 November 1996 the brave pilot was awarded the title of Hero of Belarus (posthumously) for heroism, courage and bravery displayed in performing military duty.
