Additional flight in the offing for Paro – Guwahati sector
The Consul General of Bhutan in Guwahati Phub Tshering called-on Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, Governor of Assam and presented exequatur on 02 August 2018 at Raj Bhavan in Guwahati, Assam.
The Governor mentioned that having Bhutanese consulate in Guwahati will give a big boost to the existing excellent relationship with Bhutan and India, especially in trade and commerce. The Governor informed that Guwahati has become hub of India and wants to have consulate of all ASEAN countries.
The consul general expressed that India’s then look east and now act east policy is benefiting north east region of India. He further expressed that any development in north east region and Assam in particular brings positive impact to Bhutan.
The Consul General also shared that Royal Bhutan Airlines will start Paro – Guwahati – Singapore sector flight.
The Royal Bhutanese Consulate General in Guwahati was inaugurated on 2nd February 2018 by Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Chief Minister of Assam and Lyonpo Damcho Dorji, Minister of Foreign Affairs in presence of Lyonchhen Dasho Tshering Tobgay, Prime Minister of Bhutan.
