Ad­di­tional flight in the off­ing for Paro – Guwa­hati sec­tor

The Con­sul Gen­eral of Bhutan in Guwa­hati Phub Tsh­er­ing called-on Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, Gov­er­nor of As­sam and pre­sented ex­e­quatur on 02 Au­gust 2018 at Raj Bha­van in Guwa­hati, As­sam.

The Gov­er­nor men­tioned that hav­ing Bhutanese con­sulate in Guwa­hati will give a big boost to the ex­ist­ing ex­cel­lent re­la­tion­ship with Bhutan and In­dia, es­pe­cially in trade and com­merce. The Gov­er­nor in­formed that Guwa­hati has be­come hub of In­dia and wants to have con­sulate of all ASEAN coun­tries.

The con­sul gen­eral ex­pressed that In­dia’s then look east and now act east pol­icy is ben­e­fit­ing north east re­gion of In­dia. He fur­ther ex­pressed that any de­vel­op­ment in north east re­gion and As­sam in par­tic­u­lar brings pos­i­tive im­pact to Bhutan.

The Con­sul Gen­eral also shared that Royal Bhutan Air­lines will start Paro – Guwa­hati – Sin­ga­pore sec­tor flight.

The Royal Bhutanese Con­sulate Gen­eral in Guwa­hati was in­au­gu­rated on 2nd Fe­bru­ary 2018 by Shri Sar­bananda Sonowal, Chief Min­is­ter of As­sam and Ly­onpo Dam­cho Dorji, Min­is­ter of For­eign Af­fairs in pres­ence of Ly­onch­hen Dasho Tsh­er­ing Tob­gay, Prime Min­is­ter of Bhutan.
