JAB President re-elected for the second term
The Journalists' Association of Bhutan (JAB) has reappointed Rinzin Wangchuk, the Editor of Kuensel (Dzongkha), as the president for the second three-year term by the Board of Directors.
The term will commence from November 1, 2018. The extension was decided and approved at the board meeting held on 29 October 2018 in Thimphu.
Rinzin Wangchuk is the senior most working journalist in the country. He has been key person working for to the sustenance of the JAB and has played a vital role in raising funds and building relations with funders and stakeholders.
According to a press release from JAB, the management and the board of directors thanked Rinzin Wangchuk for his valuable contributions during his first term as JAB's president and welcomed his continued service to the organisation.
JAB is an association of, by, and for journalists in Bhutan. Registered as an independent civil society organisation in 2014, JAB aspires to contribute to the creation of vibrant and independent media and a progressive democratic culture in Bhutan.
