JAB Pres­i­dent re-elected for the sec­ond term

The Jour­nal­ists' As­so­ci­a­tion of Bhutan (JAB) has reap­pointed Rinzin Wangchuk, the Ed­i­tor of Kuensel (Dzongkha), as the pres­i­dent for the sec­ond three-year term by the Board of Di­rec­tors.

The term will com­mence from Novem­ber 1, 2018. The ex­ten­sion was de­cided and ap­proved at the board meet­ing held on 29 Oc­to­ber 2018 in Thim­phu.

Rinzin Wangchuk is the se­nior most work­ing jour­nal­ist in the coun­try. He has been key per­son work­ing for to the sus­te­nance of the JAB and has played a vi­tal role in rais­ing funds and build­ing re­la­tions with fun­ders and stake­hold­ers.

Ac­cord­ing to a press re­lease from JAB, the man­age­ment and the board of di­rec­tors thanked Rinzin Wangchuk for his valu­able con­tri­bu­tions dur­ing his first term as JAB's pres­i­dent and wel­comed his con­tin­ued ser­vice to the or­gan­i­sa­tion.

JAB is an as­so­ci­a­tion of, by, and for jour­nal­ists in Bhutan. Regis­tered as an in­de­pen­dent civil so­ci­ety or­gan­i­sa­tion in 2014, JAB as­pires to con­tribute to the cre­ation of vi­brant and in­de­pen­dent me­dia and a pro­gres­sive demo­cratic cul­ture in Bhutan.
