Bhutanese band to per­form in Thai­land

Alo­cal mu­sic brand in Thim­phu, O’Strangers will launch its maiden in­ter­na­tional per­for­mance with a two-month show­case at Pat­taya City in Thai­land from this month.

This ‘Hard Rock Café Pat­taya’ is the first time a lead­ing Bhutanese youth mu­si­cal tal­ents are per­form­ing in Thai­land.

The rock bank will be per­formed with De­but Gig at the in­ter­na­tion­ally-renowned Hard Rock Café fran­chise.

With tal­ented and ver­sa­tile Bhutanese mu­si­cians, the show, first of its kind is ex­pected to pro­mote the cross ex­change of mu­sic and artistes be­tween Bhutan and Thai­land.

The band leader and song­writer, Sonam Jurmey said his team is ex­pect­ing to gain a wider fan base on O’Strangers. He said, “We are ex­cited by this op­por­tu­nity to share our mu­sic with a dis­cern­ing in­ter­na­tional au­di­ence in Hard Rock Café Pat­taya.”

The band will show­case its orig­i­nal com­po­si­tions along­side its ar­range­ments to es­tab­lish rock clas­sics. A brand new per­form­ing playlist has been crafted by the playlist ad­vi­sor, Thin­ley Phuntsho.

O’Strangers also launched its de­but al­bum ‘An­gel of the Stone Age’ to wide ac­claim re­cently.

Ac­cord­ing to the band, they have per­formed over 50 shows through­out the coun­try in­clud­ing the pres­ti­gious In­ter­na­tional Band Fes­ti­val 2015 in Thim­phu.

The cur­rent mem­bers of the team are Sonam Jurmey, band leader and song­writer, Sonam Rinchen aka Zom­bie, lead vo­cal­ist, Ez­zuu BJ, lead gui­tarist, Sonam Jigme, guest bassist/vo­cals and Uj­jal Gu­rung, guest drum­mer.
