ZHABDRUNG’S THOU­SAND STAT­UES PROJECT AL­MOST COM­PLETE

Zhabdrung’s Thou­sand Stat­ues Project which was launched in 2005 is al­most com­plete with the last lot of 160 to be com­pleted. Over 1,800 stat­ues, 15 inches tall, of Zhabdrung Kham­sum Zilon have been dis­trib­uted in tem­ples across the coun­try.

Eleven more stat­ues which were 18 inches tall were handed over to nine rabdeys and one each for Aut­sho Nam­drol­ing Goen­zin Drat­shang in Lhuentse and a Drub­d­hey in Gasa.

The project is solely de­pen­dent on in-coun­try do­na­tions and spon­sors. The last 160 stat­ues are to be dis­trib­uted to var­i­ous re­li­gious in­sti­tu­tions be­fore Zhabdrung Ku­choe, April 25.
