‘A WOMAN OF PURE HEART’ BAGS BEST FILM AWARD
The fifth documentary and short film awards which was held on May 2 in Thimphu saw 16 films and documentaries, including an animated film take part.
A 32-minute film ‘A woman of pure heart’ bagged the best film award 2018. It is a story about rural-urban migration, unemployment, women empowerment and local government election.
The film tells the story about a graduate who leaves her village to travel to town in search of job. The film written and directed by Kinley Kinga Tshering touches on how the graduate’s life changes after being raped by her in-law and the struggles she endures.
The film ends on a positive note with the victim getting elected to run a local government.
