MAN SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING
A 27-year-old man was sentenced to five years in prison for drug trafficking by Thimphu Dzongkhag Court’s criminal bench on Tuesday. The convict, Dilip Kumar Gurung from Norbuzingkha village, Dagana, was arrested in Thimphu on December 8, 2017, with 241 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon plus (SP+).
For violating the Narcotic Drug Psychotropic Substance and Substance Abuse Act 2015, he was charged with third degree felony.
In another case, the Chukha Dzongkhag court sentenced a 36 year old man, Ugyen Dorji, to five years in prison for trafficking 352 capsules of Spasmoproxyvon plus (SP+). He was sent to rehabilitation for three months for 18 tables of Nitrosun 10 (N10) in May.
