40,000 TREES IN TWO YEARS

Tsir­ang forest di­vi­sion on June 4 launched a project to plant 40,000 trees on a 50-hectare land to com­mem­o­rate the birth an­niver­sary of Her Majesty The Gyalt­suen and also co­in­cid­ing with World En­vi­ron­ment Day.

The PHPA II com­pen­satory plan­ta­tion was launched in Dan­gre­gang com­mu­nity forest in Semjong gewog. About 32,00 saplings of champ, tsenden, wal­nut, gamri and teak were planted on two hectares of bar­ren and de­graded land.

The forest di­vi­sion re­ceived Nu 3.2mn from PHPA II.
