On June 30, a 42-year-old man died on im­pact when the Bolero he was trav­el­ling in went off 30m be­low the road at Tshaeta­ja­ley on the way to Daba in Nubi, Trongsa.

Seven pas­sen­gers were trav­el­ling when the ac­ci­dent oc­curred around 3:15pm. While three were re­ferred to Trongsa Hos­pi­tal, other es­cape with mi­nor in­juries.

The main cause ac­cord­ing to the po­lice was the steep road, in­ex­pe­ri­enced driver and ex­tra pas­sen­gers.

An­other five pas­sen­gers were killed when a trip­per truck with 27 pas­sen­gers veered off the road at Rikhey in Sam­drup Jongkhar on June 30. The in­ci­dent took place around 5: 30pm. The ve­hi­cle fell about 150m be­low the road, ac­cord­ing to the po­lice. The po­lice said that un­li­censed driv­ing and an over load of pas­sen­gers could be the cause of the ac­ci­dent.

On July 4, a fall­ing boul­der killed two boys aged eight and one in Jumja. There were four peo­ple in the ve­hi­cle, two boys, the mother and the driver. They were on their way to Phuentshol­ing when the in­ci­dent hap­pened. The mother and the driver are said to be in sta­ble con­di­tion and are un­der­go­ing treat­ment at Gaeddu Hos­pi­tal.
