US$ 35MN GRANT AGREEMENTS SIGNED
Bhutan and Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed US$ 35mn grant agreements yesterday.
Of the total grant, US$ 20mn will be used for health sector development program to improve equitable access, enhance efficiency and sustainability of the health system. The Ministry of Health will implement the project over a period of five years (2018-22).
The grant of US$ 15mn will, meanwhile, be used for Skills Training and Education Pathways Upgradation Project (STEP-UP), which is envisioned to support the government efforts towards expanding and upgrading technical and vocational system. The labor and education ministries will implement the project in the next seven years (2018-25).
