A 24-year-old Bhutanese student’s body, who allegedly committed suicide in Fukuoka, Japan, was found at a park in Fukuoka on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was in Japan since October 2017 through the ‘Earn and Learn’ program.

Foreign minister Dr Tandi Dorji was quoted saying that officials from the labor and foreign ministries were working on providing assistance to the parents of the victim and on bringing the body back to the country.

The minister also reportedly said that the labor and the foreign ministries were working closely and evaluating the program as there seemed to be issues especially related to insurance such as sickness and death associated with the program.
