Bhutan Trust Fund for En­vi­ron­ment Con­ser­va­tion (BTFEC) ap­proved to fund eight projects worth Nu 90.63mn as part of its man­date to fi­nance con­ser­va­tion pro­grams in the coun­try last week.

For a more sus­tain­able trans­port sys­tem, it ap­proved the in­stal­la­tion of about six elec­tric ve­hi­cle (EV) charg­ing sta­tions across the coun­try which will be un­der­taken by the in­for­ma­tion and com­mu­ni­ca­tions min­istry soon. Mean­while, there are five charg­ing sta­tions in the coun­try as of to­day and these are be­ing used by close to 100 elec­tric ve­hi­cles (EVs).

Ac­cord­ing to the BTFEC Di­rec­tor, two projects fo­cused on adap­ta­tion, two on mit­i­ga­tion, three on the se­cu­rity, and one on so­cial well­be­ing.
