Description
It’s ART TIME! Princess Bubblegum and Marceline have made a gallery for the ages—a celebration of the finest paintings the Candy Kingdom has to offer! Best buds Finn and Jake have taken a break from their quest to find the Enchiridion to accompany Flame Princess to the show—but it turns out to be anything but a relaxing date (totally-not-a-date, Jake) when the Impressionist shows up! Seeking to create a kingdom of his own, this wannabe maestro is trapping everyone inside his totally boring paintings! What the heck! Will Finn’s algebraic drawing skills be able to stand up to the challenge? Will Jake ever get to draw any hands? WILL ICE KING STOP EATING THE ART?! From cartoonist and animator Nick Winn (Bloody Mary) and artist Jorge Monlongo (Over the Garden Wall)—the next in this first arc’s rotating cast of interior artists—and featuring a brand-new back-up story by 2024 LA Times Book Prize Finalists Derek Ballard (Cartoonshow), the all-new Adventure Time ongoing series continues here!
About the author(s)
Nick Winn is a comic artist/animator living in Los Angeles, California, with his wife, his brother and their tiny dog, Drizzy Bizzy. He loves writing and drawing comics about love, longing, faith, and all things sci-fi. Video game music gets him working, but Bossa Nova winds him down.
Jorge Monlongo is a versatile senior artist with an eye for color and composition. He has worked as a concept artist and environment designer on Barracuda’s Treasure (Hampa), and on Decorado, the new film by Alberto Váquez (Uniko). He has been the art director and environment designer at the video game studio Brainwash Gang, where he is largely responsible for the visual aspect of Laika: Aged Through Blood. As a character designer, he has collaborated on various projects of the Finnish studio Pikkukala (Royals Next Door and Taste Buddies). Additionally, he has worked on comic adaptations of Adventure Time and Over the Garden Wall with BOOM! Studios, and Rick & Morty with Oni Press.
Derek M Ballard is, first and foremost, a single parent of three kids in Gainesville, Florida. Sometimes after he takes the kids to school and cooks dinner he’s lucky enough to get work on cartoons for Cartoon Network, Netflix, or HBO. Most recently he was the lead background designer on Mystery Cuddlers for Adult Swim. His book CARTOONSHOW from Oni Press was selected by the LA Times as one of their top five graphic novels of 2023. But mostly he’s just a plain old dad, tbh.
