Description

From rising star Jordan Thomas (The Man from Maybe, Mugshots) and viscerally talented artist Daniel Gete (Über) comes a hyper-violent sci-fi/action spectacle that will force you to trust no one . . . not even yourself . . . In the year 2142, fertility levels around the globe plummeted, and a black market for illegal clone babies emerged. Millions of parents used their own genetic material to welcome these new children, only realizing the horrific consequences far too late. At some point in their life cycle, three in four of these genetic duplicates transform into psychologically unstable killing machines known as “Dupes.” Fortunately, the United Nations of Europe has decided to take an active role in containing the growing threat. Their specialized task force has taken up the unenviable task of hunting Dupes before their violence can spread. To the government, they're the Duplicate Identification and Capture Division. To everyone else, they're the ""Skin Police."" The worst part of the job? It's always the one you least suspect . . . Collecting Skin Police #1–4.

About the author(s)

Jordan Thomas hails from the South of England but is currently living in Valencia, Spain. His first published comics work was the 1920s postwar, farm-based horror series Frank At Home On The Farm. Since then he has written a sci-fi western, The Man From Maybe, for Oni Press, and the alien world crime story Weird Work at Image Comics. He likes dogs, swimming, and swimming with dogs.

Daniel Gete set aside his pursuit of a degree in architecture to follow his true love: comics! He holds an Illustration and Animation Degree from Escuela Superior de Dibujo Profesional (ESDIP) in Madrid. After working as a graphic designer for Xplane, and as an illustrator in video game development, Daniel received his first assignment as an artist for Avatar Press on the Absolution: Rubicon limited series. He also penciled the web series Crossed: Dead or Alive written by Garth Ennis as well as Uber and Uber: Invasion by Kieron Gillen.

Reviews

“Jordan and Daniel have created one of the best sci-fi comics in recent years, it's like Morrison, Cronenberg and Moebius have come together in an entity with its own personality. I hope to continue enjoying this series for a long time!”

Jorge Fornes (Batman, Rorschach, Danger Street)

“Great read! Skin Police would fit right in during the golden age of 200AD. Smart, stylish, subversive and intense. This one is going on my pull list.”

Phil Hester (Green Arrow, Swamp Thing)

"Full of good art and good ideas, it's faint praise to say this is the best book I've ever read about psychotic clones, but I defy anyone to make a better one."

John Allison (Giant Days, Great British Bump-Off)

"Skin Police is the kind of science fiction I love. High concept but gritty. It bears the hallmark of all great science fiction—a world that feels fantastic, but utterly believable."

Mark Russell (Not All Robots, Superman: Space Age, Batman: Dark Age)
