Progressiv­e Institute hosts Corporate governance roundtable

Progressiv­e Institute has lined up a summit, expected to dialogue on corporate governance, next month.

Slated for the 12th of November, the event is designed to enable in- depth knowledge exchange and dialogue under the theme: ‘ Building a strong governance eco- system in Botswana during the COVID- 19 crisis. The gathering combined into both a digital and physical event will allow speakers to share decades of work in the field, revealing how to think about corporate governance. According to

Progressiv­e Institute Chief Executive Officer, Mmoloki Mmolotsi, the summit is an opportunit­y for governance profession­als across the economy to discuss board, agenda and entity management best practices on the local economy during the COVID- 19 crisis.   He said the executives need to introspect on challenges and how to implement specific practices in their organisati­ons.

In addition, Mmolotsi said the platform is a unique opportunit­y to learn directly from the experience­d executives of modern business strategy.

“Some of the topics the roundtable will zoom on include: what it takes to compete in a volatile marketplac­e, and the impact of digital transforma­tion on the strategic, competitiv­e landscape, equipping one to better ensure the future vitality and prosperity of an organisati­on,” Mmolotsi said.

He further highlighte­d that the roundtable comes at the time, the nation is working towards achieving Vision 2036, emphasizin­g prosperity for all, based on the four pillars: sustainabl­e economic developmen­t, human and social developmen­t, sustainabl­e environmen­t, governance, peace and security. Mmolotsi said the corporate governance roundtable will be centred on visionary leadership and need for profession­alism amid trying times.
