HOUSE OF DIVINITY ROPES IN MPHO SEBINA
House of Divinity, a jewellery brand owned by Motswana designer Boitshoko Kebakile, has joined forces with songstress Mpho Sebina, who is now the face of the brand.
The outlet creates enchantingly stunning and exquisite accessories that include cufflinks, earrings, hand bands, neckpieces and rings.
Sebina recently told BG Style that she went into a strategic partnership with House of Divinity as brand ambassador valued at over P45,000 in cash and merchandise. She said she was highly honoured to be identified by an incredible brand that is authentically representative of Botswana, and most importantly, is woman owned. “It is very important for us as Batswana to empower each other, and working with House of Divinity has been one of the most empowering partnerships of my career,” she said.
The brand is making a commendable mark locally and overseas, and just recently got an international nod when celebrated American actress Viola Davis, her husband and daughter all wore pieces from House of Divinity. Davis even posted on her social media pages: ‘ Beautiful jewellery from Botswana, love it!’
Davis wore a large A+ grade Botswana agate cuff bracelet and a neckpiece from the collection, ‘ An ode to the originals’ and her husband wore an African trade bead neckpiece featuring lapis lazuli while their daughter rocked peacock printed fabric earrings.
It is perhaps the originality of the jewellery that sets the creation apart and endears to a diverse global clientele. House of Divinity is an ethical brand that makes exquisite and unique jewellery. The website says that it is an ethical brand that exists to make jewellery steeped in not only refined craftsmanship, and quality, but also sustainability. According to Kebakile, “Each piece carries a pleasant marriage of contemporary designs and African Influences.”
House of Divinity source their raw materials largely from the African continent and, “thus have a Pan African approach to our supply chain and Ethos, and Green Policy, built on the three pillars which are local and handmade, responsible sourcing and ethical design.”
Clients can choose from different collections, including a popular one called ‘ Ode to the originals’ which is inspired by Tsodilo Hills art work, as well as the makgabana and African stone beads, which are made from pure stone.
