Next generation coaches emerge
The recent appointment of former Gaborone United player Otlaadisa ‘ TRX’ Mohambi as Extension Gunners head coach has caught many by surprise in local football circles. Mohambi is just one of the relatively young coaches to rise to the occasion and takeover a major football brand in the elite league. Affectionately known as TRX, Mohambi joins the likes of Pontsho Moloi of GU as the next generation of local tacticians that is expected to usher local football into the next era.
Mohambi is no stranger to manage prominent football brands as he has recently enjoyed some success in the Mogoditshane Fighters dugout where he has been since commanded for building up the team and giving them direction in the Debswana First Division. Fighters are currently playing in the playoffs as they seek promotion to the top flight next season.
Unlike other local teams, Extension Gunners have been given credit for giving young coaches an opportunity , with numerous examples being former Mochudi Centre Chiefs player Pontsho Moloi, youthful tactician Wame Mokoke and now Mohambi .
