Detox Garden offers something different
Detox Garden in Mochudi believes in nature, and sees plants and water as the source of life that could bring therapy to both the mind and the soul.
For the director of Detox Garden, Ntendi Tenesi, gardening is an art and a talent that she shares with her clients to rejuvenate their lives. “I preserve a garden for more use, including to refresh mind, detox, plants, and water containers,” she says, adding that she also does gardening for controlling soil composition and present a particular plant as a piece. She has always had a relationship with water and gardens from a young age as she would visit water points to draw calmness and watch birds singing. Therefore, she tells BG Style that her service of setting up a garden is one of a kind and clearly sets her apart because of her first love with nature. “When I set up a garden, I visit the site first, and ensure that I understand the theme that my client needs as well as establish on what they like, to ensure that the décor matches what they want. Sometimes, I even advise my clients where necessary,” she said, explaining that she uses a lot of paint for her gardening art. “I use a lot of paint and not only on the ground but also on different surfaces, walls, timber and tyres,” she said. She reiterates that she always wants to create an illusion and see a different version after she works on a place.
Tenesi also takes inspiration from ponds. She deals with ponds to allow birds to drink water from them and she says that she plans to have a water system to keep birds and fish. She takes pride in the Bougainvillea flower which she says, flowers all seasons. She acknowledges that she has always had a spiritual calling and being a lover of nature she is pleased that she has identified Bougainvillea plant as a special plant in her garden for its medical purpose. “It is a never die flower and it can be used for respiratory problems, cough and also as a detoxifier,” she explains. She is of the view that periodically, one has to detox to allow their body to function well, and so her famous organic detox water made from nuts, herbs and seeds works exceptionally well for her weight loss program. “We make this special water through distillation and filtration, and the feedback from our clients has been amazing,” she said. Water therapy is very important for one’s body to get that glowing skin as well as have the digestive system functioning well, according to Tenesi. She works closely with her husband, who is a chef to aid people on eating right and living well, while they are also at the service of beautifying their homes or functions. They also have a vegetable pickle, which Tenesi explains is best served as a salad. “Our water and pickles are very helpful on our diet program, and the jar of pickles, because of its fermentation process, helps breakdown food faster, as it is a salad and helps beating problems like constipation,” she explained.
Sometimes they have bootcamps to motivate people on eating well and detox. “During this period we help our clients to learn how to keep their body fit, deal with the mind and obviously detox,” she noted. They provide accommodation for this sessions to enable clients to implement this lifestyle effectively as they wake up to eating healthy breakfast and take walks. The boot camp normally lasts for three to seven days. Their products have been checked with BOBS and she explains that they will set up a stall in Gaborone soon, to introduce people to their diet programs and products.
