midst of the Covid- 19 pandemic, all she wanted was to give people the best service and of course, the unforgettable service ever. She is not a beauty therapist, but a lover of lifestyle and currently learning from her spa how it is all done. She shares that her first encounter with a spa was during her university days in Port Elizabeth, South Africa and that particular spa fuelled her dream of owning one. “This is a dream that

I had for many years, and I started planning its existence three years back,” she says, noting that during these past three years, she drew her business plan and identified the kind of customized furniture that she wanted in her spa. When she found a space last year, she never looked back but immediately set up. The local company, Onias Industries made Ritzy Spa that lovely haven for beauty therapy with the unique customized feel from reception area to different compartments of massage rooms to the nail bar, as well as the pigola that is stationed outside at the back just after the nail bar. The lovely customized place also speaks for itself, including its staff’s warm reception, let alone the products used there. The pigola area allows people to chill there and get natural fresh air while having snacks and drinks as they wait for their friends and family. The setup is ideal for the Covid- 19 social distancing protocol. Gotlop reiterated that she loves beautiful things and seeing people happy. “As an individual who loves lifestyle and beautiful things, I want lifestyle to be reflected through this spa. I love relaxation and I believe that it is why this spa is themed in such a relaxing way just to uplift people’ spirits and ensure that aura is present,” she said. She is forever grateful for her family, partner and friends who have supported her throughout achieving the journey of this spa. “My grandmother also gave me a lovely wardrobe as a gift to encourage me with my business, and it perfectly matches the furniture in the spa and serves to keep those towels we use every day,” she said.

On the other hand, she says the spa has groomed her through managing people, and relationships as she works with people all the time. She employs four people and glad to share that each one of them is rightly placed for the best of their services. Tracy Mompa deals with nails in particular, and is of the view that, it is all about knowing the right techniques, being passionate and professional to achieve the best art of nails. Another Beauty Therapist, Barati Shoshong who does massaging, facials, pedicure, manicure and waxing explains that pedicure is one of the services that people overlook. However, she notes that its purpose is to improve foot condition and also improves blood circulation, nourishes and stimulates the leg and foot muscles. She recommends this to everyone, and especially people who spend a lot of time standing. Shoshong also says that pedicure can also help soften dry feet through the process of paraffin wax. “Pedicure also offers relaxation to the feet through foot massage,” she said. She says the customised pedicure station at the spa even makes the work easier for both the client and the beauty therapist. Like any other spa, they do all the massages including, Africology, Deep Tissue, Swedish, Hot stone, back, neck and shoulder, head massage and belly massage. Gabaakelwe adds that belly massage is important for digestion and blood circulation, as well as helping one to detox. Their welcome words on the walls of treatment rooms also give the clients that assurance to relax and expect the best service.
