- Kabelo Gadise BG Correspondent

While waiting for the Ministry of Youth Empowerment Sports and Culture Development ( MYSC) to approve their new Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) whose names are still withheld, the Botswana National Sport Commission ( BNSC) has extended acting CEO Tuelo Serufho’s secondment contract until May 2021.

In an interview this week, Botswana National Olympic Committee ( BNOC), Chairperson Botsang Tshenyego said due to circumstances beyond both the BNSC and the BNOC they have had to extend the Secondment to end of May 2021.

Further, he said they will be recalling Serufho back to the BNOC, once the BNSC substantive CEO recruitment process has been concluded. This also means that acting BNOC CEO, Wedu Motswetla will be occupying the position until May 2021.

Reached for comment, BNSC Chairman Marumo Morule said the six months of acting has elapsed and they didn’t want to sit without any contractual agreements.

“In as much as we have a memorandum of agreement with the BNOC, we don’t have to compromise our relationship.
