Pule denies doing business with Masisi
We are not advising BDP
Founder and CEO of multinational investment company Africa Lighthouse, Bame Pule has castigated reports and allegations that he has engaged in business with President Dr. Mokgweetsi Masisi. Social media has been awash with claims of Pule and his company engaging with Masisi as well as the ruling Botswana Democratic Party ( BDP). Botswana Guardian is in possession of a letter that Pule wrote to his clients clearing the matter. Dated 19th May 2021 headlined ‘ Africa Lighthouse Capital Refutes False Allegations on Social Media’, the letter addressed to Africa Lighthouse Capital’s clients, business partners and associates, and other stakeholders, refutes “the false and unsubstantiated allegations about the firm and its leadership that were published in recent weeks on social media”. “We have never engaged in any business with President Masisi. In addition, due diligence completed by Africa Lighthouse Capital in the companies in which we have decided to invest has conclusively documented no current nor prospective shareholding by President Masisi as per official records of the Companies and Intel
lectual Property Authority as well as binding transaction legal documents.
“This lack of current and prospective shareholding includes at Aon Botswana Group, which Africa Lighthouse Capital is acquiring in partnership with Minet Group, the leading pan- African risk advisory company, from Aon BV, a subsidiary of Aon Plc, the New York Stock Exchange- listed Fortune 500 Company”.
Africa Lighthouse Capital further states that its Founder and Chief Executive Officer Bame Pule, has never been an advisor to the Botswana Democratic Party or any of its structures or officials.
“Our team at Africa Lighthouse Capital continues to pursue investment opportunities in leading companies in Botswana with an intention to work actively with them to help them become regional champions.
