Investec adds new faces to board

Investec Limited has appointed two new directors. According to a statement, Nicky Newton- King and Jasandra Nyker ‘ will be appointed as members of the Group’s Social and Ethics Committee and the Group’s Board Risk and Capital Committee. Nyker is the

Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of Nala Renewables, a renewable energy company focused on investments in solar, onshore wind and power storage projects globally. Prior to joining Nala Renewables, Nyker was Managing Director at Denham Capital Management in London, where she was involved in investing in and overseeing renewable power projects in Latin America, South East Asia and Africa. Investec has also stated that King is a lawyer by training ( having graduated from Stellenbosch University and the University of Cambridge). She stepped down as CEO of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in late 2019 after 8 years as CEO and 23 years as an executive there. “In her tenure at the JSE, Nicky was responsible for the repositioning of the JSE as a modern securities exchange with deep global business and technology relationships and a highly transformed workforce,” said Investec which is listed on Botswana Stock Exchange.
