Who is the next BNSC CEO?

-

Although the circumstances are beyond both the BNSC and the BNOC, they have had to extend the Secondment to end of May 2021.

However, if Serufho does not get a nod from the Ministry, he will be recalled back to the Botswana National Olympic Committee ( BNOC). If on the other hand, he assumes the BNSC substantive CEO position, the acting BNOC CEO, Wedu Motswetla is likely to be confirmed as well.

Reached for comment, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Youth Empowerment Sports and Culture Development, Kago Ramokate’s phone rang unanswered. By press time, he had not responded to messages sent to him.

Despite those closer to the events indicating that Serufho is the chosen candidate in the position, it’s still unclear why the Ministry is delaying his appointment. Serufho, is the substantive BNOC CEO and he started his short- term secondment in September last year.

Serufho has been a board member of the BNSC and has also worked hand in hand with the commission as the BNOC CEO. He has demonstrated passion on athletes’ development, during his time at the BNSC.
