Magosi appoints new GM
Debswana First Division South ( DFDS) side, Mochudi Center Chiefs has appointed Bobo Moswaane as their full- time Manager; Magosi announced this Monday.
Moswaane is appointed as full time General Manager responsible for administrative and business development programs of the club. He will report directly to the Secretary General and the Chairman on a daily basis.
Speaking in an interview, Magosi mouthpiece, Olebile Sikwane said the General Manager has got two roles to perform. “To complete and facilitate a seamless transformation and commercialization process as we undertake to become a private company.
“He is also charged with returning the team to the Premier League by putting together a team that can play, put together resources especially support structure of the fans, including sponsorships.”
Furthermore, he is expected to turn Centre Chiefs into a sustainable club which can make money through its brand and various revenue streams at its disposal, but not yet tapped and exploited.” It’s a very simple but challenging mandate,” Sikwane said.
Moswaane is former General Manager of Jwaneng Galaxy, where he helped the club in compliance, merchandising and also participated in CAF assignments in Africa.
Educated at both the University of Cape Town and University of the Western Cape respectively, Moswaane boasts a business development background with strong affection for marketing, compliance and merchandising.
Mochudi Center Chiefs is one of the most successful clubs in the country but was relegated to first division back in 2019. Their efforts to return to top flight football have hit a snag twice, although the Kgatleng based club commands a huge following and their return to the top tier is something that most of their fans will cherish.
Magosi have won the local top League four times and the team has a few other trophies including the FA Cup. Observers blame their downfall on the transformation process that failed to materialise, and it remains to be seen if they will use the transition from society to company to awaken the giant that Magosi is.
