Despite the ladies athletics team crashing out of the Tokyo Olympics in a rather stunning anti climax, there is still hope for revival in the future.

Speaking in an interview, Botswana Athletics Association ( BAA) Vice President Administration, Oabona Theetso said they did not expect such a dismal showing; however they accepted the results from all the ladies. “I can’t say we expected this kind of performance but we accept the results.” The 38 year old Amantle Montsho could not finish her race in the 400m heats on Tuesday, Botlogetswe who celebrates her 25th birthday in October was last in her heat, registering a time of 53.99 while 24 year old Galefele Moroko finished 6th with a time of 55.89.
