A BOOK FOR ALL THE SINGLES
Pastor Thuso Gaongalelwe publishes ‘ Wisdom For Singles’
Marriage Counsellor and Founder of Honey After Honey Moon, Pastor Thuso Gaongalelwe’s recently launched book dubbed, ‘ Wisdom for singles’ is a special read meant to build healthy relationships before and after marriage.
Through Honey After Honey Moon, an interdenominational couple’s ministry focusing on rejuvenation of marriages, Pastor Gaongalelwe says he came across many issues he believes should be resolved before marriage. He therefore thought that by writing this book, he would be able to build better relationships with a good foundation of how to relate to one another. “I have dealt with different marital issues that I believe would not have been issues if some considerations were made at an early stage of dating,” he says. He tells BG Style that, it is against this background that he got inspired to pen down wisdom for the singles. “The book is solely written to encourage single people to make informed decisions in every area of their lives while still single,” he says.
The book was published by New Dawn publishers, and according to Pastor Gaongalelwe, the book so far receives best reception. It is actually his first book, and he is amazed by the overwhelming support he gets. “The reception of the book has been very good and quiet overwhelming for my first book. Those who have already read the book find it encouraging,” he says, emphasizing that people are enquiring about the book and buying it in satisfying numbers. Pastor Gaongalelwe is alarmed by divorce rates in the country and hopes that
the book could be a remedy solution to some of the factors leading to divorce. According to reports, 893 divorce cases were registered with high courts between January and September in 2017. “This means that on average, 99 of 893 cases were registered every month, and that year alone, 1190 divorce cases were registered,” Pastor Gaongalelwe says, explaining that these statistics paint a dire picture of the status of divorce in our country. The book therefore tries to take out issues and clarifies how problems like passion killings can be avoided as they have become part of the society. ” Statistics of the Botswana Police Service indicate that 194 people were murdered in 2018 by those who claimed to love them, so this book tries to help people think differently and cherish the people they fall in love with,” he says.
Pastor Gaongalelwe is of the view that love should be sweet and be embraced. The book further covers key topics including, depression and heart breaks that result from relationship break ups. It is currently available at Botswana Book Centre and people can also order it for delivery at 72999641/ 76969084.
