Furthermor­e, he said they are prepared to work together with her club to get the athlete back in shape as she is one of the senior athletes with experience and talent. “On other roles we will work together with her club UB to ensure that she is up to speed,” he said.

On the other hand, Ofentse Jele, who wears two hats as the athlete’s husband and coach said the athlete has just resumed training a few days ago and is in good shape at the moment. “She is in good shape, the talent, dedication and commitment are all there so we are all glad she will be returning to the track soon.”

Furthermor­e, he said that with the World Championsh­ips just around the corner, they are at ease and not troubling their minds with qualifying for the games, “I think qualifying will be easy, our main concern now will be winning the medals that’s what we want to achieve,” he said. Jele has represente­d the country in the 400m and 4X400m relay at the 2016 Rio Olympics and the Internatio­nal Associatio­n of Athletics Federation ( IAAF) world championsh­ips in England in 2018, which was her last assignment in the national colours. However, the senior athlete will take up the lead role in the 4x400m relay team in future should she return to her best form. Having missed four years of competitiv­e sport and now at age 31, Jele will focus on winning as many accolades as possible before she sees the twilight of her career to leave a long lasting legacy like several other athletes across the world.
