Pula depreciates against Rand
Botswana Pula depreciated by 0.4 percent against the South African rand and 0.2 percent against the IMF Special Drawing Rights ( SDR) over the one- month period to August 2021. During the period Pula had a mixed performance against the SDR constituent currencies. It depreciated by 0.5 percent against the Chinese renminbi, 0.4 percent against the US dollar and 0.2 percent against the Japanese yen. It appreciated by 0.7 percent against the British pound and remained relatively stable against the euro. Over the twelve months period to August 2021, the nominal Pula exchange rate depreciated by 9.2 percent against the South African rand and appreciated by 2.8 percent against the SDR. Against the SDR constituent currencies, the Pula appreciated by 7.3 percent against the Japanese yen, 3.8 percent against the euro and 3.2 percent against the US dollar, while it depreciated by 2.8 percent against the Chinese renminbi and 0.3 percent against the British pound.
