Inflation drops

Botswana’s annual inflation rate dropped by one percentage point to 8.8 percent in August after registering 8.9 percent in July. Statistics Botswana Report revealed that in August 2021, the largest upward impact on the annual inflation came from the Transport at 4.6 percent, Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels registered 1.4 percent, Food and Non- Alcoholic Beverages registered 0.9 percent while Miscellaneous Goods and Services registered 0.6 percent.
