MUGABE WAS NOT CORRUPT – BPF ACTIVIST

-

Among the best- performing viral videos last week was of Phagenyane Phage, a veteran opposition politician who served a stint as a councillor in the Kweneng District Council. A Johnnie Walker politician, Phage has walked from the Botswana National Front to the Botswana Congress Party and is now taking a breather at the Botswana Patriotic Front. By a process of deductive reasoning, Phage wouldn’t call Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe or Rwanda’s Paul Kagame corrupt.

That is because he measures corruption not in terms of the amount of state resources that a leader steals but his body weight. In the video, Phage chastises the current Botswana political leaders for being corrupt because they have gained so much weight that they now look like “belted Jojo tanks”. Conversely, he absolves BPF patron and former president, Ian Khama, of any corrupt dealings because he remained the slim “Tshetha” when he was in power.
