Ike Gof to launch new music in Botswana

-

Ike Gof, a UK based musician, is paving his way to the country to launch his newly released music item dubbed ‘ Setena’ and ‘ Khoba’.

He still has hope for the industry and tells BG Style that, he is already on the festive mode as a musician and wishes to give his fans what they deserve. He has recently had a show in the US where he says he has managed to raise the Botswana flag high.

Setena is a fun song that narrates some of the scenes that happen during entertainment sessions. “Setena basically talks about the fact that, while unwinding at entertainment spots, some people end up in another lovers’ hands, causing heart breaks,” he explains. He features the legendary Limpopo star, Atelo ‘ Attie’ Matlou, popularly known for her song ‘ Hamba’ in which she features DJ Tpz. Ike Gof is one artiste who believes in collaborations, and selling African content abroad. He tells BG Style that he chose to do this song with Attie, just to honour her talent as a musician of note. “She is the one who wrote this song and directed it,” he said and takes pride in the fact that the song has been well received in Botswana. He only shared it with local radio stations about a week ago, and it is already trending.

This he says he did in preparation for his UK show, which is scheduled for Blackpool, and he engaged some artists from Botswana and South Africa. “This is normally my season to work, and I am ready to offer more music this year,” Ike Gof tells BG Style.

He has also released one song to be officially released on October 15th, dubbed ‘ Re Babedi’,

in which he features Kalahari. Normally he takes time to plan for only his festive song, but this time around he tells BG Style that the festive tune is already in the bag and Christmas just came early for his listeners through other new songs before the release of the actual festive song. “Depending on the State of Emergency situation, we are set to distribute the music across the country, meaning that it would be a bonus if the industry is entirely opened as we intend to have a music tour, to share this new music,” says Ike Gof. He adds that nothing fulfils him like giving back to the locals through music, because they always give him immerse support.
