Total Energies relaunch Startupper challenge

Total Energies has announced the relaunch of Start- upper of the Year Challenge in 32 countries of the African continent, including Botswana.

According to a statement, this year’s 3rd edition of the Start- upper reaffirms Total Energies’ commitment to supporting the socio- economic developmen­t of the countries in which the Company operates in Africa.

“It contribute­s locally to strengthen­ing the social fabric by supporting the most innovative entreprene­urs in the realizatio­n of their projects,” said Total Energies, which has several operations in the country.

For this edition, the Start- upper of the Year Challenge will support and reward young local entreprene­urs between the ages of 18 and 35, who either have a business creation project or a startup that is under three years old, regardless of the sector of activity.

A local jury made up of experts, people from the world of startups, company managers from local sustainabl­e developmen­t players and managers from Total Energies will select three winners with each winner receiving P100,000.00.

There will be three categories at stake. The categories are: the best business creation project, the best start up under 3 years old and the best female entreprene­ur.

In the past edition of the competitio­n, Ogaufi Setlhogile won first prize and also female entreprene­ur of the year, Bokete Mthabisi won second prize and the third position went to Mooketsi Sembungu.
