Quiet often, people struggle with pigmentation and dehydration given the hot weather conditions of Botswana.

Medi- Glow Aesthetics has a solution for rehydrating, and getting that desired glow as well as clear the pigmentation that may come with the harsh sunny weather.

The recently opened medical aesthetic practice, has just added IV nutrient therapy ( vitamin drips), to their list of services.

Founder at Medi- Glow Aesthetics, Dr Wedu Somolekae agrees that taking care of the skin could be overwhelming, and says it needs routine and patience for one to maintain that radiant and glowing skin. “We do offer minimally invasive medical procedures and services that help to enhance one’s physical appearance as well as optimize their health and wellness, and IV Therapy is one of these services,” she shares.

She describes IV Therapy as an intravenous ( administered through the veins) hydration and nutrition therapy that replenishes one’s body’s essential nutrients. She explains that while administering an IV drip, the doctor does a quick assessment to make sure that one is in a suitable condition for the IV drip.

“Much like receiving an IV drip in the hospital, a cannula is inserted to gain access to one’s veins, and an IV line is then connected to the drip which is usually about 200mls. It takes about 25minutes to administer the drip,” she explains. Dr Somolokae further explains that

IV therapy is helpful for individuals seeking to add fluids to their body for wellness, clarity, beauty benefits, energy, stress management and more. She notes that, the body constantly craves to restore its key vitamins to maximum capacity, and this is best achieved through IV therapy. “It ensures 100 percent absorption of nutrients into one’s bloodstream unlike oral vitamin intake which has variable levels of nutrient absorption,” she says explaining that, most healthy adults are eligible to receive IV therapy.

The actual benefits of IV nutrient therapy depend on the cocktail of vitamins and nutrients used in individual solution, Dr Somolokae says. She highlights that, each vitamin in the drip is explained to the patient before it is administered. Some of the benefits of their immune booster drip include; reviving energy and combats fatigue, boosting immunity, restoring vitamin levels, aiding in vitamin deficiencies, reducing inflammation, brightens skin and improves skin health as well as improving symptoms of anxiety and depression, and rehydrating the skin, which most people really need for their skin. IV nutrition therapy can be done every two weeks or monthly. Dr Somolokae says ever since they introduced IV therapy, it is rapidly gaining popularity and people are happy about the results.

“Clients are quite excited for the experience and they acknowledge having found a way to better care for themselves and optimize their health,” she says, adding that they have received positive feedback, as many existing clients have referred their friends and family members to come in for the drip.
