One of the most popular and prolific young coaches in local football, Pepe Mokoke, is excelling and certainly rising through the ranks. Having been able to work under difficult conditions with minimal resources, the coach is proving to be one for the future with his pondering tactics and football brains.

Mokoke has recently left his post at Extension Gunners to sign a more lucrative deal with the Botswana Football League defending Champions, Jwaneng Galaxy where he will be the assistant coach to South African gaffer, Morena Ramoreboli.

Mokoke has been under appreciated locally, given the effort he has put into his work recently. The coach has in the past juggled through several teams including, Molepolole City and Extension Gunners where resources were limited or even close to nothing at all. His potential came to light this season when he rescued Gunners out of the relagation zone, leaving them outside of the top 8 battle just in position 9 in the log table. This time around his work didn’t go unnoticed as Galaxy came knocking at his door and got his signature. “He will be a good addition to the technical team since he has the qualifications to sit in the bench for the CAF Champions League games; he will help a lot in assisting our head coach in CAF,” Jwaneng Galaxy mouthpiece, Tankiso Morake said in an interview. With this two year deal Mokoke is now able to add experience to his coaching career. The coach will not be in a comfort zone as expectations are now growing, Galaxy are further behind in the league and have an enduring test in the Champions League thus, the coach needs bring all his spanners to work. Now the big task ahead of him is to take heed and have an impacting influence in the team. It remains to be seen how the up and coming coach will work with his senior Morena Ramoreboli in the coming weeks and months. Although some might argue that it is always difficult for coaches of rising ambitions to work together, there are instances where egos are put aside for the benefit of the team; a close example will be the works of Innocent Morapedi and Pontsho Moloi that has left the entire football family in awe with their effective cooperative work. Their team has already won the Orange FA cup and now stand a better chance to win the league.
