BFA investigates southern region

-

“At this moment we haven’t engaged our treasure, we have met as the committee to assess the situation. There are two ways to this, if our preliminary investigations show that there has been misuse of funds or we get a confession it will lead us on how to deal with the matter, but if we don’t find anything, we will engage auditors to help us establish facts on what could have happened,” the chairman revealed.

Contrary to circulating rumors that the chairman has handed his resignation as a result of the matter, Kafeka has vehemently dismissed the allegations and reiterated his commitment to continue serving in his position.

“I’m still the chairman of the region and I’ve been in a meeting that I was chairing, so there is no truths in those allegations. I’m still a member of SOFRA, nothing has changed,” he shared.

Maclean Letshwiti, the BFA president has recently vowed to put his house in order and this extend to regions who are currently under the watchful eye of the local football top office.

Still on matters relating to financial embezzlement, the FIFA delegation which last week completed their investigations on the BFA have since reported that, there was indeed misallocation of funds at Lekidi offices.

The BFA wrote to FIFA following reports of misuse of finances, a matter that subsequently led to the

Chief Executive Officer, Goabaone Taylor being shown the exit doors; despite investigations being at their infancy stages.

Although the four FIFA delegates, which included former BFA president David Fani, absolved the association from any misuse of funds, close reports suggest that the FIFA findings are unlikely to exonerate Taylor from accusations leveled against her and will not be reinstated as the CEO.

Just a little over eight ( 8) into the post, the former CEO will reportedly undergo a disciplinary hearing for misallocation of funds, although in some instances her actions were justifiable, it appears that there has been a political ‘ witch- hunt’ to have her out of Lekidi offices.
