Gaborone United and Orapa United are set to clash over the weekend as Botswana Football League ( BFL) title chase continues.

However, the playing ground is already uneven before kickoff ahead of the encounter between these two titans of local football. Log leaders, Gaborone United have already signed Orapa United’s star players, Thero Setsile and Mothusi Johnson, who combined for a devastating effect when the two clubs met three weeks ago. To rub salt into the wound, the Money Machine have reportedly completed the signing of Orapa United striker, Onkabetse Makgantai according the player’s agent, Bakang Moipone. “Everything has been completed, Makgantai has just signed for GU, an 18 months deal has been agreed and I believe an announcement will be made soon,” Moipone revealed. The Ostriches previously reported that the striker had gone AWOL after failing to show up for training following the Christmas break. The Zebras strikers’ stay with the Mining giants has been followed by controversy after he reportedly had a fall- out with Ugandan midfielder, Lawrance Ndunga who was eventually released from the club after the two could not be reconciled. Makgantai’s arrival adds to the Money Machine’s potent attack force after inside sources at the club last week announced that, former Kaizer Chiefs’ Multi Choice striker, Sizwe Twala has already penned down a contract with the club and is awaiting work permit before he can make his debut. The 2014/ 15 be Mobile Premier League Young Player of the season, Onkabetse Makgantai, has also plied his trade in DRC after joining AS Vita in 2016; he returned to Orapa United in 2017. The striker has also played in the South African top tier league for Baroka FC and boasts a wealth of experience of top level football. The Money Machine currently has Mara Moloi and Joel Mogorosi who are coming towards the end of their careers and the club is looking to find long term replacements. Young Misani Thupa, who joined from Extension Gunners, is regarded still young and has struggled to score goals and guarantee himself a starting berth in Innocent Morapedi’s team.
