Leon Gwara is such a rare gem when it comes to his true calling. Gwara, one of the Hair Experts/ Stylists at the Organics Hair Salon, is a one in a million.
He treats the head of each and every one of his clients as an open billboard. And that open billboard gives him the freedom to work his magic and conceptualise some of the most breath taking adverts or what we call hairstyle. For starters, he has the warmest smile. Even with the mask on, some of us have the ability to tell through the eyes when one is smiling. Gwara is one of those who exude that type of smile. Very passionate about Hair, and in his case, natural hair, he is the type of Hair Technician who embodies everything that most of us wish we could find in Hair Technicians in town. He is not loud. Very soft spoken, he takes his clients through the whole process of what he will do during an appointment. Gwara, who happens to be the Supervisor has been calling Organic Hair Salon home since 2020. The Hair Salon is located at Airport Junction on the First Floor, a few steps from Dischem. A walk inside the doors of the hair salon is such a beautiful adventure. While some salons in the beauty industry are only after making a quick buck, this is far from what one gets when they come here. You literally enter a completely new atmosphere. As soon as you walk inside, you are blown by the serenity that envelopes you the moment you walk through the doors. The scent of Aloe Vera whiffing through the air is soothing. The floors are clean, and the staff is welcoming and very friendly. This right here is staff who have been trained and do not attempt to fight over a client, or ask those annoying questions of whether you want to do your hair. Trust us, we go through that each and every time that we frequent some salons in town. Taking in the length and breadth of the salon, everything here has a purpose. Clean chairs, the décor is very simple, and the colours are very warm. The soft music in the background also adds to the whole serenity of this salon. The chairs at the wash basins are totally different, very soft, you can literally fall asleep while a stylist is Shampooing your hair. Gwara has a very interesting journey in the hair business. He traces his passion to his early age when he was able to plait his Grade 1 teacher.
