THE ORGANIC EXPERIENCE

- BG REPORTER

Gwara began the appointment by analysing the hair, and taking the BG Style reporter on how he intends to resuscitate her hair. One thing that he was very clear about was that the hair was dry, and breaking. Lack of moisture are some of the issues that leads to hair breakage. Another issue that he picked was Alopecia ( Hair loss) in the middle of the skin. The alopecia came as a result of pregnancy, which is not unique to some women. And for this reporter, he was spot on.

Now to bring it back to its lustrous shine, he starts off with their very own Hair Scrub, which was a completely new experience. The scrub comprises a number of key ingredients which they keep very close to their hearts including sugar, and coconut. The scrub itself is a welcome development on hair that almost went under the chop. It kind of opens up the pores. And the much needed head massage does wonders to the scalp. Having frequented salons around town, the reporter was yet to see. The scrub was then followed with an intricate shampoo. After the intense shampoo, Gwara applied their own invention of Aloe Vera Treatment. The treatment, which will also help to act as sort of an anti- biotic for the Alopecia, comprises of raw Aloe Vera, and adding to the whole experience is how they carefully process it to get its gel. The treatment, which also comprises of other ingredients that they are not divulging, is then applied to the hair. This is followed with hair steaming, which is recommended as it uses moist heat to open the hair cuticle, and also assists by allowing benefits of treatments, and oils to penetrate deeper into the hair, says Gwara. For dry hair like this reporter, this is such a welcome development. Previously, she has had not so good experiences with hair steamers, but with this steamer process, she is really impressed. What she really appreciates is how she was not burnt, and stayed under the steamer throughout the duration of the session. While waiting for the 15 minutes to elapse, a cup of coffee is served. The last part of the treatment is washing off the treatment solution. The thing that you appreciate with this treatment is how it kind of heals your hair. From a dull looking hair that had no life, you instantly see your hair breathing again. Gwara shares that they are very careful when it comes to using heat on hair, especially natural hair. So, before they use any heat, they apply a heat protector. As he intentionally combs the hair in a particular motion, he explains that there is a pattern that they use. They do not just comb for the sake of combing

lest they damage the hair. Now, prior to the Heat protector, he applies a leave in conditioner. The last part of this treatment is applying raw shea butter to add moisture to the hair. Shea butter comes highly recommended for hair and skin use. It is good for moisturising, filled with vitamins A and E, as well as essential fatty acids that come very handy when it comes to adding moisture to hair. Overall, this was a beautiful experience. This reporter appreciates how her hair transformed and was even flying with the wind. It was light and even shed off a few years from the reporter. She enjoyed being able to run her fingers through her hair without flinching in pain. So for those who might be dealing with Alopecia or any other hair issues, Organics Hair Salon is the place for you. Try them out and get value for each and every thebe that you spend.
