Do or die for Galaxy

- City Keagakwa BG Correspondent

Jwaneng Galaxy are hoping to qualify for the knockout stages of the CAF Champions League. The team will have a mountain to climb in the tournament for them to advance to that stage. Despite their recent awful showing, the team is still hopeful for a place in the knockout stages and mathematically they stand a chance. Although the Jwaneng Club will not want to look back at the past results, like the recent 4- 2 loss to Security Systems and the loss at home against their next opponents, CR Belouizdad in Francistown, the CAF Champions League Group games have come in thick and fast and for most of the fixtures, the team has looked hopeless and unsentimental; they were easily conquered while on home soil and away. Nonetheless, Morena Ramoreboli and his Galaxy of stars will want to put that behind them in the next battle against CR Belouizdad at

Stade Du 5 Juillet, in Algeria.

Expectation is that the coach has studied his opponents who are strong physically and possess a unique and unmatched technique on the ball; they use their physicality to their advantage hence the coach should be smart in his approach. There is a need for Galaxy to play with their most mobile players, Gilbert Baruti, Thabang Sesinyi, Wendell Rudath among others who will try to bring down the blocks in the midfield and the defence. What will also be important for Galaxy will be their game management styles, whether they can manage the game and not lapse in concentration especially at the start and at the end of the game.

Galaxy have only accumulated a single point while AS Tunis are top of the table with 5 points, tied at the top with CR Belouizdad. ES Sahel have 3 points and mathematically the Debswana backed side, Galaxy, still stands a chance with three games to go and this weekend’s game will determine their fate as they need nothing less than a victory.
