Township Rollers football club have been on a resurgence on the pitch and the business community have noticed the upward trajectory with great appreciation.

Yesterday saw the club launch their partnership with building retail giants, EezzeBuild which will see supporters of the club enjoy variety of benefits and a P60 000 cheque.

The Rollers’ National Branches Committee ( NBC) will use the cheque to purchase the equipment which the supporters will use to cheer their side on. “The dignity of Township Rollers is mainly because of its supporters. The supporters contribution was very imperative in ensuring that we secure this partnership,” the club CEO, Bennet Mamelodi explained.

Mamelodi further added that Mapalastina supporters are the spine of the club. He also highlighted that the sponsorship and partnership was negotiated by a collaboration of the club office, executive committee and the supporters through the National Branch Committees ( NBC). “We are going to secure a brass band instruments worth P60 000 for the supporters. Eligible Township members will also get up to 30percent discount at our shop on selected products. We will also work with the branches to notify them of any vacancies at our shop so that Rollers fans can stand an opportunity to work at our business. We will follow normal processes of hiring but we will give Township Rollers supporters top priority,” Operations Manager at EezzeBuild, Riaz Jalal revealed during announcement of the partnership. Rollers boasts arguably the largest crowd in local football and evidence to that, is the recent clash against Gaborone United in which the Royal Aria stadium, with a 10 000 capacity was seemingly beyond full capacity. Other local businesses who have aligned themselves to the Township Rollers brand include Stanbic Bank and O3 Beverages. The Blues are currently chasing Gaborone United in a pulsating Botswana Football League ( BFL) title race, in which they are trailing by a single point. The club’s supporters could prove to be crucial and propel Romain Folz and his troops to glory come end of the season and EezzeBuild could have just given them a much needed boost.
