Masitaoka mum on appointment of Mogaladi

-

The club’s top brass resorted to excusing the club’s head Coach Nelson Olebile, who has been at the helm of the club since 2017, from first team involvement and was given the role of ‘ Technical Manager’ in search of a possible solution to arrest the situation.

Mochudi Centre Chiefs were not in a compromising mood over the weekend as they eliminated the last year’s Orange FA cup finalist in the first knock- out stages of the current season.

A little over 48 hours later, Prisons XI compounded Majatlhaga’s sorry state of affairs with an emphatic 2- 0 win.

After the game, a group of supporters ganged up in protests demanding answers from team officials and technical team members on the state of affairs of the team, security forces had to be on high alert to guard against any possible danger to clubs’ officials. “It’s football, these decisions sometimes have to be made, I’m not surprised that these changes are happening, results weren’t forthcoming and it was inevitable that changes will be made,” Inside source at Masitaoka stated. When contacted for comment, Masitaoka FC communications Officer, Oduetse Thuto was coy to divulge any information relating to technical changes in the team and declined to confirm the appointment of Michael Mogaladi. “I must admit it has been a tough period for the club, we did not expect to be knocked out in the early stages of FA cup after reaching the finals last season; certainly the defeat to Prisons added salt to the wound. During a time like this, it is expected that rumours around the technical team are very much likely but I can tell you there is nothing as of now regarding appointment of Mogaladi. We are due to meet later and I believe the club will have a proper update,” Oduetse said. Majatlhaga’s communication desk, however, confirmed the departure of Ofentse Mapeu and Thatayaone Mothuba, the duo left their roles as first team coaches of the club. “Masitaoka Football Club can officially confirm that our two Co- head coaches Thatayaone Mothuba and Ofentse Mapeu have been relieved of their duties, effective immediately. We are grateful to coach Mothuba and Mapeu for what they have achieved in their time as coaches of Masitaoka FC. However, recent results and performances have not met the club’s expectations, after lengthy discussions and consideration it was decided a change is needed now to give the club time to improve performances and results this season,” Official statement released by the club read. The statement further revealed that Technical Manager, Nelson Olebile is no longer operating in the position, information regarding his status will be communicated in the near future.

Olebile is likely to oversee the club’s development projects as he is one of the club director, Aryl Ralebala’s trusted men in leading the football project. Masitaoka will today [ Friday] take on BDF XI who will be looking to register back to back wins after beating Mogoditshane Fighters 3- 1 on Tuesday, early indications suggest it could be Mogaladi’s first game in the Majatlhaga dug- out.
