Molefe will then proceed to her final destination in Puerto Rico, where she and other queens will stay for less than a week. This time around, the programme is very short, as most of the work into prepping and crowning a new queen has already been completed in December 2021. One of the two things that the queens including Miss World Botswana will do during their short stay in Puerto Rico include, the crucial Judges’ interview as well as the rehearsals for the big finale. Also key about this event is that the remainder of the queens from the 97 countries that participated last year and did not make the cut for the Top 40 are penciled to be featured on the live broadcast that will be viewed my millions of viewers across the world on the evening of the finale.
The final event that the queens will engage in is the Beauty with a Purpose Special event slated for March 17th. They will return to their respective countries the following day, March 18th. Meanwhile, in an interview, the organiser, Kaone Moremong tells this publication that everything regarding the Queen’s departure and preparations for Puerto Rico have been finalized. “She has received her Covid- 19 booster shot and is supposed to produce a negative PCR test when she arrives in Puerto Rico,” she notes, adding that they are upbeat about everything.
She explains that when it comes to her wardrobe and the mysterious dress that she will wear at the finale, four local designers have been given the mammoth task of designing and creating the gown. The four designers are, Botocy, Versatile Creations , Dihdah and
FADDIC. The gown that she will wear on the big day will be chosen from these four masterpieces. Having followed the careers of the four designers, this will not be an easy job for whoever will eventually decide which dress she will wear on the big day. Most of them have some pretty timeless classics under their belts. “We have done our research in terms of what the Queen wears at the finale. And we were looking for something elegant,” she says. She further says that when it comes to accessories, she will be wearing a diamond necklace supplied by Debswana, and that the rest of her accessories were also sourced around.
In the meantime, Miss Botswana license holder, Ben Raletsatsi and the Queen’s mother, will depart on March 14th for Puerto Rico, and will be amongst the live audiences who will witness this big moment.
