Badman, as he is fondly known, got position three with a time of 20.65 in the men’s 200m final, after South Africa’s Clarence Munyai and Netherland­s’s Bockarie Solomon. Speaking in an interview, GIM spokespers­on, Calistus Kolantsho said the bronze meet will continue to grow year in year out and attract some of the finest athletes in the world. “This is a stage where everyone can glow, it’s where stars are made and we are very proud to have provided athletes with such an accommodat­ing platform to excel.” He added that the Meet has lived up to true expectatio­ns considerin­g the turn up at the venue and the performanc­e on the track. He lauded upcoming sprint sensation, Letsile Tebogo, noting that, not only does he get internatio­nal recognitio­n, the meet is also gaining ground across the world. Kolantsho further said that the country also has potential in the field events which have been shadowed by track events. They will do their best to ensure that athletes in the field events continue to have a platform to cultivate their skills and performanc­es.
