Aquamaniacs diversify water sport
The water sport , dubbed Aquamaniacs events, owned and managed by Tshambani Brand ( Pty) Ltd, seems to be a lovely addition for the aqua game lovers.
Founder and Managing Director of Tshambani Brand, Katlego Tshambani describes Aquamaniacs as a fun filled sport and recreation event. It is made up of inflatables, giant slides, dunk tanks, mechanical bulls, jumping castles, space rockets, among others.
He tells BG Style that this sport mainly helps people with their mental health as it needs more concentration, and it is also good for those people who are into lifestyle and perhaps want to lose weight or just have fun in water.
“The inflatables will challenge you, surprise you and leave you wanting more,” he says.
He highlights that, there are a lot of water based events in Botswana, but what makes Aquamanics unique is the fact that they do not limit anyone. “We are an inflatable only event, while some events incorporate musical performances and limit the inflatables to kids at kiddies zone. Aquamaniacs has both senior and junior activities, it’s not a kiddies event,” he explains. He adds that, they also raise mental health awareness and donate part of their annual event proceeds to organisations that advocate for the cause. Tshambani reiterates that mental health has become a concern in Botswana, which is why they saw it fit to raise awareness about mental health whenever they have an event. This he says, noting that, they have an annual series of events in which they try to go around the country to enlighten people about mental health while they also do their unique sport.
“The whole purpose of the Aquamaniacs events is to make people’s lives better, bring them together to reimagine fun and also refresh their minds, while we also grow our organization,” he says. “As we raise funds for mental health awareness, we also broaden knowledge on Mental Health because we are aware how the Covid- 19 pandemic has affected people’s lives indirectly,” reiterates Tshambani.
He clarifies that, Aquamaniacs has an ongoing series of events that will be taking place around the country dubbed, ‘ Aquamaniacs Bw National Series 2022’.
The initial one was held in Gaborone recently and they look forward to one in Francistown in August, another in Palapye in October and the last lap in Maun in December.
“The Gaborone Edition which was held on the 30th April 2022 was a success as everything went well from the logistics point of view with security being prioritised. There were no incidents of ill behaviour and we had MRI Botswana as our medical response partner and in fact there was no reported case( s) of injuries,” he shares.
He further says that they want to promote water sports, as swimming is the most common water gaming around, together with aqua aerobics.
They anticipate good turn up from water lovers as the events on their calendar unfold after the winter season.
